Registered Physiotherapists

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a child’s development of gross motor skills and promoting participation in meaningful and functional physical activities.

  • Evaluating a child’s strengths, as well as needs, in critical areas of gross motor developments

  • Designing interventions to promote healthy development of skills needed for success with daily mobility tasks.

  • Assessing, supporting, and providing strategies for the development of:

    • Functional mobility

    • Balance

    • Coordination

    • Postural stability, and/or

    • Strength and endurance.

  • Supporting participation in sports and physical activities

Working Conditions

  • Work environment: family’s home, community, and/or online

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent

  • Registration with College of Physiotherapist of Alberta

  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum and/or with other special needs.

  • Current clear criminal records check and child/youth intervention check

  • Alberta driver’s license/vehicle
